No matter the time of year, there is always something going on in Estes Park! While there are several events that go on throughout the year held by individuals and organizations, the Town of Estes Park's Special Events Department plans and organizes five of the most popular festivals:

The Jazz Festival

The Jazz Festival attracts both residents and visitors alike. Experience two days of great music and beautiful art. The performances take place between noon and 5 p.m. at Performance Park. Take a self guided tour of local galleries on the Art Walk from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

June 15, 2008

Estes Park Wool Market

June brings the Estes Park Wool Market from the 12th through the 15th. The first two days are for pre-registered workshops and seminars then continues with two fun filled days of exhibits, demonstrations, competitions and vendor booths that are free and open to the general public from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sheep dog herding demonstrations are held 4 times a day throughout the weekend. Be sure to check out the Children’s Tent where visitors can partake in rope weaving, spinning and loom weaving!

Rooftop Rodeo

Kick up your heels in July with our Rooftop Rodeo. Beginning July 8 in downtown Estes, see saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, tie down roping, bareback riding, barrel racing and bull riding! Also, back by popular demand is a Mutton Bustin' competition for the kiddos.

Elk Fest

Come fall the Elk Fest gives visitors a chance to view wild elk during the rutting season as well as expand their general knowledge of the majestic animal. Learn all about their habitat and how to peacefully observe them in their natural state. This October and November event features bugling competitions, educational areas, seminars, live music, Native American storytelling and more. Vendors get a chance to display their artwork, jewelry, knives, antler appointments and more. Enjoy the foods of the season offered by local participants as well.

Catch the Glow Christmas Parade and celebration

Kick off the holiday season the day after Thanksgiving with our annual Catch the Glow Christmas Parade and celebration. Just as dusk comes in at 5:30 p.m. down the street comes floats decorated with thousands of tiny twinkling lights. They are themed from across America, storybook figures, angels, snowmen and all the staples of the season. Also catch the Colorado Crush Arena Football League team in their third year at the parade. Kids will love getting a glimpse of Ol' Saint Nick as he wraps up the festivities of the evening.
